A Bedient Transformation
We are pleased to announce a transformation of Bedient Pipe Organ Company. Paul Lytle and Mark Miller have been heading the Lincoln Organ Company, d.b.a. Bedient Pipe Organ Company, since Gene Bedient announced his retirement nearly ten years ago. With the transition complete as of June 1, 2015, Paul and Mark have moved forward with a new company. We are now officially Bedient Pipe Organ Company of Lincoln, Nebraska, L.L.C.. We have relocated to a new facility at 3300 S 6th St., Ste. P in Lincoln where we continue to design, build, and service fine instruments for customers across the United States.
Paul Lytle has retired from active involvement in the day-to-day operations of the company, but Mark Miller continues to serve as President and Tonal Director. Ryan Luckey is Vice-President and Project Manager. Our LLC. also includes: Jasmine Beach, financial administrator; Guy Davenport, shop foreman; and Bob Lundholm, attorney. Ryan, Jasmine, Guy, and Bob all bring a wealth of knowledge, and it is great to have them as part of our ownership team.
It is our pleasure and privilege to continue serving the many clients who call Bedient for their pipe organ service, rebuilding, and new instrument needs. We are the same folks you have counted on for years! On behalf of our dedicated staff, we look forward to serving all of our current and new customer relationships now and into the future.
Mark Miller: President and Tonal Director
Mark graduated from Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska with a Bachelor of Music degree and from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Master of Music degree, both in organ performance. Mark is our Tonal Director, which makes him responsible for the tonal design and finishing of Bedient’s pipe organs. He also oversees the service and tuning of more than 125 pipe organs across Nebraska and neighboring states. These include instruments at the University of Nebraska, Nebraska Wesleyan University, Concordia University, churches, and synagogues. He is also an active musician, serving as Director of Music Ministries at First Christian Church, and as Organist of Congregation B’nai Jeshurun in Lincoln, Nebraska. Mark is a longtime member of the Lincoln Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. He has served on its executive board in various capacities and as co-chair of the Lincoln Organ Showcase concert series.

Immediate Past President
Paul graduated from Peru State College with a Master of Science degree in Organizational Management, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, with a Minor in Psychology. He is a member of the American Institute of Organbuilders (AIO). Paul has been associated with Lincoln Organ and the Bedient Pipe Organ Company, LLC, for over thirty years. He has served as President-CEO of Lincoln Organ, and is now a member of the LLC in an advisory capacity. His personal interests are family, reading, travel, walking, biking, and fishing. Paul was a past President of Kiwanis Club of Lincoln SE, and a Distinguished Lieutenant Governor for Kiwanis Division 22 Nebraska.
Member, LLC & Financial Administrator
Jasmine received an Associates Degree in Accounting from Southeast Community College, in Lincoln, Nebraska. She is our financial administrator and performs the general accounting and office functions. Jasmine enjoys hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities with her husband Jerod, and their young daughters.
Vice President and Project Manager
Ryan graduated from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln where he minored in vocal performance. At Bedient, Ryan is involved in all aspects of service, tuning, and voicing and is responsible for keeping all projects running smoothly. He serves as the vice-president of the Associated Pipe Organ Builders of America (APOBA) and is a member of the American Institute of Organuilders (AIO). He is currently the treasurer for the Lincoln Chapter of the American Guild of Organists (AGO). Ryan is an active church musician, singing with two different church choirs each Sunday. His love of organ building began several years before he came to Bedient when he decided to build a 2-manual, 7-rank practice organ in his home. At UNL, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Horticulture and Landscape Design. He is co-owner of Second Nature Landscape Management, specializing in pruning and other garden maintenance.
Member, LLC; Organbuilder & Service Technician
Guy earned his Bachelor of Science degree from State University of New York. He has been a woodworker for over 20 years. At Bedient, he is actively involved in building and adjusting tracker and various other key and stop actions. He also builds and repairs all types of windchests and organ consoles. In his free time, Guy enjoys painting landscape and still life in oil, and building craftsman furniture. He and his wife, Meghan, and their two children recently embarked on a yearlong adventure living abroad in Tartu, Estonia.
Marvin earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Kearney State College. He is also a self taught woodworker, having worked in that craft for more than 40 years. Before coming to Bedient, Marvin taught high school and adult education classes in woodworking in Beatrice, Nebraska. At Bedient, Marvin is involved in all aspects of building and assembling pipe organs. Marvin’s interests include lathe turning, making folk instruments and other pieces of functional wood art, reading, biking, photography, and baking his famous pumpkin pie.
Service Technician & Tuner
Matt earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He started working at Bedient in 2010 after completing a variety of art apprenticeships. Matt is primarily trained as a chest builder and wood worker, but he also tunes and services instruments. In addition to being an organbuilder, Matt is a ceramic artist and enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters.
Sales Representative & Consultant
John is a classically-trained organist. He earned his Bachelor of Sacred Music degree from Grace University in Omaha, Nebraska, and Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in piano and organ performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. John has been a longtime friend and consultant for Bedient. He has taught and performed throughout Nebraska and internationally. John served as organist for Saint Paul United Methodist Church in Lincoln, Nebraska from 1996 to 2014.
Service Technician & Voicer
Chad received an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Construction Technology from Southeast Community College, in Milford, Nebraska. He began his career at Bedient building wooden pipes and key action parts while he attended college. During his years at Bedient, Chad has designed, voiced, and coordinated all aspects of the organ building process. Chad spends his time away from the shop doing woodworking, and enjoying myriad outdoor activities with his family.
Service Technician & Tuner
Nick earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. He has been with Bedient since 2005. Nick spends much of his time for Bedient on the road as a technician and tuner. Nick is also the owner of Prairie Creek Vineyards, the winery he established in 2003. Prairie Creek Vineyards is located on Nick’s family farm in Central City, Nebraska, where he lives with his wife and three children. You can learn more about Prairie Creek at prairiecreekwine.com.
Organbuilder & Service Technician
Fred has over 20 years experience in the pipe organ business. He is primarily a chest builder, who also does troubleshooting and service work. Fred is a devoted father of three. He enjoys woodworking, painting with watercolor, and bee keeping. In fact, some of the bees Fred keeps are just outside the pipe shop door.
Legal Counsel & Member, LLC
Bob is a lawyer who is licensed to practice law in Nebraska, Iowa and Arizona. His law office is located at 87th and Center Street, Omaha, Nebraska. The emphasis of his law practice is business creation and representation, corporate and individual tax preparation, tax representation before the IRS, state departments of revenue and the U.S. Tax Court as well as estate planning and trust and probate administration.
